John Persichetti has been a colorist for more than 23 years. He has focused on feature films and has more than 50 DI titles to his credit.
John has collaborated closely with some of the leading directors and cinematographers in the business. Including, James L. Brooks, Robert Rodriquez, Adam McKay, Janusz Kaminski, and Oliver Wood. In addition to feature films, the variety of John’s work includes animation, television movie-of-the-weeks, documentaries and several 3D projects including “The Amazing Spiderman 3D”.
Over the years, John has had the pleasure of working on 4K restoration projects such as Die Hard, Home Alone, and All That Jazz. His restoration work on “Il Gattopardo” premiered at the 2010 Cannes Film festival and his collaboration with Martin Scorsese and Thelma Schoonmaker on the restoration of “The King of Comedy” closed the 2013 Tribeca Film festival.
John has been quoted in several major industry articles including Daily Variety, the Hollywood Reporter and American Cinematographer for his work on the 65mm Ron Fricke documentary “Samsara”. He was recently invited to speak at the TV Globo Professional Imaging conference in Rio de Janeiro to discuss his work on “Time and the Wind” which was photographed in Brazil using the Sony F65 camera and the ACES work flow.
John has a bachelor’s degree from LaSalle University and a master’s in film from NYU, where he studied cinematography. He began his career with the post house AME and later worked at CIS, Sony Pictures’ High Definition Center, Post Logic Studios , Technicolor and Colorworks.
