Jim started his career in Houston, Texas at a local origination cable station where he wore many hats. He accepted opportunities to grow at various post facilities until he accepted a position in New York to work at Charlex as a editor/vfx artist. In 1991 he was invited to become a member of The Post Group where he had the privilege to work in their Digital Center on various Episodic, Music Video, Award Show and Theatrical projects. While at The Post Group, Jim was nominated for 2 International Monitor Awards for Outstanding Visual Effects work, one for “Unsolved Mysteries” and another for MC Hammer’s “To Legit to Quit” video. From The Post Group, Jim worked at Planet Blue & Digital Magic, then moved his family back to Texas in 1997 where he learned Illusion, Edit Box, Flame and Smoke to enter into the non-linear world. Jim worked on commercial & feature projects as both a staff & freelance artist. He provided editorial & vfx services for Troublemaker Studios, Red Car-LA, Fox Sports and Company 3. In September 2007, he joined the DI team at CO3 and served as a DI online Editor for “Into The Wild, “500 Days of Summer” and “Fast and Furious 4” to name a few. In 2009, Jim offered his freelance services again to provide editorial finish and vfx work for several of the top companies and projects in Los Angeles such as “Iron Man 3”, “The Good Wife”, “Grey’s Anatomy” and a variety of commercial & TV marketing campaigns. Jim is now thrilled to be at Chainsaw to be the finishing artist for Chainsaw’s new drama series, “Game of Thrones” entering it’s 5th Season on HBO.
