While attending UCSD, John started videotape editing in 1995 at Daniels Cablevision in Del Mar California. After graduating, he worked at Team One Advertising as an audio video intern making dubs and promotional tapes for new clients. He has been specializing on Avid Symphony finishing since 1997. He was a freelance online editor all over Hollywood from 1997 till 2004. In 2004 he became one of the few staff online editors at Chainsaw. He is currently the Department head for Chainsaws 11 staff online editors. Nominated for 7 Primetime Emmys, and has won 3 Emmys. In 2007, he was part of the editing team that won for The Kennedy Center Honors. In 2009, he was part of the editing team that won for The 25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert, and again for the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
During John’s career he has worked on amazing shows like… American Idol, The Oscars, The Kennedy Center Honors, CNN Heroes, Stand Up 2 Cancer, The Comedy Central Roast, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concerts. John has also had the great opportunity to work with some of television’s biggest directors who trust in him to make sure their shows look great. He feels honored that he gets to color correct and do the finishing work for the biggest television directors in Hollywood.
John has worked on some incredible concerts which include, The 25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert, Barbra Streisand, George Straight, Carrie Underwood, Yanni, Tim McGraw, Storytellers: Dixie Chicks, A Salute to our Troops, and Live Earth. John is very proud to have worked on Fund Raising Broadcast like, Stand Up to Cancer, Idol Gives Back, and An Evening of Stars Tribute. These shows have raised hundreds of millions of dollars through these broadcasts to help fight cancer, and provide college scholarships.
