Steve Purcell is a Grammy, Emmy and Cable Ace Award winning producer, director and editor.

Purcell’s television career started at the age of 20 working for what was then a five person post-production company,The Post Group. While there, TPG grew to be one of the largest post-production facilities in Hollywood with over 200 employees. Steve quickly moved up through the ranks from tape operator to editor, senior editor and ultimately technical director. Purcell spent 10 years as lead editor at TPG editing everything from commercials to network specials to feature films like “The Lost Boys and “Flatliners”.

In 1989 Purcell set his sights beyond editing and started his own production/ post-production company, SLP Productions. SLP produces television and film projects throughout the US, Europe and Asia. Some notable projects include “Paul McCartney’s, A Postcard From Arizona”, “B.B. King, The Blues Summit”, “One Night in Jordan” and ”Alanis Morissette’s, jagged littlea pill live” which Purcell won a Grammy for producing and directing. Purcell brings a very unique skill set as a producer, director & editor to all of his productions. Some of his long standing clients include Prince, Elton John, Van Halen, David Foster, Johnny Carson, Yanni, Martha Stewart and all of the major networks.

In addition to being President of SLP Productions for over 20 years, Purcell has directed the movies for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, “When in Rome”, “Getting There” and “Holiday in the Sun”.

Currently Purcell is General Manager of Chainsaw, Inc. a leading provider of post-production services for television, feature films and other media, based in Los Angeles.

Purcell has also been an active member of the Directors Guild of America for 25 years.
