Bill DeRonde

Bill DeRondeBIO

In 1985, Bill DeRonde began his editing career at WBNX-TV 55 in Cleveland, Ohio. After two years, he moved to Classic Worldwide Productions, a Post Production facility in Cleveland. During his seven years there, he rose to the position of Senior Editor and ran a staff of seven editors. In 1991, Classic Worldwide Productions purchased an Avid editing system, which was one of the first systems placed worldwide, thus began Bill’s long relationship with Avid. For three years, Bill was an Executive Board Member of Avid User Group and met twice a year with Avid management to discuss improvements to the system. Bill spent the next three years traveling the globe with David Frost, editing interviews on-site because of the time constraints of the program. In 1994, Bill moved to Los Angeles and worked at Unitel and The Post Group. While at The Post Group, he helped develop the use of Avid systems at the facility. In December of 1996, Bill founded Chainsaw. Early work consisted of promos for CBS and The WB, and television programs for Fox and MTV. In 1999, VH1 hired Chainsaw to edit their Behind the Music series, at which point Chainsaw expanded its staff to seven people. Since then, Chainsaw has grown dramatically and now has 2 state of the art post facilities in Hollywood. Chainsaw now works for every major network, including such programs as: The Academy Awards, The Emmys, American Idol, The MTV Video Music Awards, and the MTV Movie Awards.
